Signed in ink by Major General (here still Major) HANS-PAUL KÜPPER. 

 

Among other things, he was field commander of Dünaburg, commander of Frauenburg and commander of Riga.

 

On 26 January 1946, he was indicted by the Baltic Military Tribunal for war crimes as commander of Riga and sentenced to death by hanging on 3 February 1946 together with 9 other defendants. The sentence was carried out on the same day.
